Most of the women I work with… the high-achieving, high-functioning, hyper-self-aware kind, don’t actually have so called imposter syndrome.
They have emotional receipts.
They have nervous systems wired for silence.
They have decades of shape-shifting under their belt…. and a voice in their head that still says “Who the hell do you think you are?”
We’ve dressed that fear up in a name that sounds almost clinical: Imposter Syndrome. Were you diagnosed by a doctor?! Is it curable?!
But the truth is…
You’re not an imposter.
You’re just exhausted.
And your body is fed up with performing.
Here’s what you’ve probably never been told
You don’t feel like a fraud because you’re unqualified. You feel like a fraud because you’ve never been taught how to exist without earning your place.
Because for years, you’ve….
- Over performed to feel secure
- Minimised your power in order to be palatable
- Waited to be chosen before choosing yourself
And that’s not mindset.
That’s survival.
This isn’t a mindset issue
It’s a nervous system pattern.
If the voice in your head has been louder lately, if your creativity’s dried up, your ambition’s gone missing, your body is craving stillness…
That’s not weakness.
That’s wisdom.
That’s your body saying….“I’m done playing the part. I want to feel like myself again.”
Here’s what I believe….
Burnout isn’t a breakdown. It’s your body refusing to lie anymore.
And imposter syndrome? It’s not your identity. It’s the echo of a life that no longer fits.
If this hits something in your gut, you need to listen to EP112 of the Reinvention Era podcast right now.
In this week’s episode I cover:
- Why burnout doesn’t always look like collapse (and what it does look like)
- How imposter syndrome is often just your nervous system begging for a new pattern
- Why rest isn’t laziness… it’s remembering who the hell you are
